Affluenza

Photo Credit I dreamt and craved For a new pair of shoes Or visit to the zoo. I worked hard to please With the best of manners My chores done perfectly My homework on time And my sweetest of smiles. Waiting for days  In patient excitement Till at last one day My wants were fulfilled. The joy and thrill Of the wish come true With hugs and kisses Thankful and grateful In a new of pair shoes! Gone are those days  Filled with the magic of wanting Out on  streets fancy Window-shopping for fun Dreaming and preening Looking longingly hard At the quiet mannequin In a dress so gorgeous You wish it were yours. Today that dress  Is stripped off her shoulder And packed in a jiffy No dreaming no waiting  No smiles no kisses Just a dip of a hand  Into my purse of plenty For that piece of plastic That has killed all the fun. New disease has hits us all The disease of affluenza Of squander and depression. With money in surplus In every mans pocket Dreams dry up As mo...

It's All in the Mind

Photo Credit Silence is golden So used to say my father As this mouth of mine never  Ceased to chatter and blabber. After years of talking I finally discover Sweet words are a magic wand of wonder Harsh word arrows that the heart pierce Leaving holes like do nails on the fence Speak up when there is need to be heard But silent if you need be admired A few words from deep down the heart Are better than talk efficiently thought. Empty words make the most noise Like stones in an empty vessel Actions speak with a better voice What a long speech may never fulfill. No words can make you feel at fault Unless you permit them to do that Harsh words have a power to instill hurt If only your mind allows the attempt Change harsh words of disrespect To sweet words of confidence and trust And watch kind words flow your way It’s all in the mind, I solemnly say. Untouchable

We still have people going into drains and bringing up the muck. We have technology for everything under the sun, then why are we subjecting our fellow human beings in this deplorable manner? Is it because they are still there? Coz they still have to eat to remain alive? Photo Credit Touched by thoughts that slash and scar, Humiliation touched every nerve, every cell, Eyes cry tearless cries             mouths mouth muted moans, Who has the time to linger             and ask if it hurts at all? The glance, the smirk, the ignore,             kerchief on upturned noses. A glance is enough to reboot afresh, A flurry of thoughts that race to that scar, To nibble and gnaw till the slash rebleeds, A thousand more beads of inhuman pain. Inherited pain and the cruel name In their new muster and their black drain. Clothed in ...

Inhale Happiness

Photo Credit Happiness is but a state of the mind Looking for it at the table you dined? A filled stomach and a fuller pocket Buys delight, as did a diamond locket. Each has one’s own personal equation Levels off at peak, horizontal fashion. Money flaunting buys evanescent change Wrap of affluenza turns life estrange.  Obscure in snatched moments of phantasy  Sinking highs of drugged satin ecstasy. Orbiting round the key to happiness Contentment is hidden in crypticness. Trapped in a vicious circle of action Hunting lifelong for gratification. Love & happiness slithers beyond reach Perhaps the route opted needs a reteach. Endless-peace requires subtle openness  Inhaling success-upset with sameness.
