Know your brain’s age

http://www.freebrainagegames.com/ From the website I have been interested in Brain Science (esp in the area of cognition) ever since I left my Bio-technology degree in the 90's to pursue my interest in web technology. There have been so many exciting breakthroughs especially in the awareness of neuroplasticity. I have a real passion for the field as I grew up on a small farm in New Zealand I am a big believer in personal change. However I am not a neuroscientist - I am sure this site would look quite different if I was :-). And you should not take your brain age too seriously.

Play Strategy game online – Nile Online

If you have played any of the city building games, you are sure to be bowled over by this “browser” game. I am a very big fan of Sierra’s Pharaoh. I stumbled up on this website a few days back just to see that this has been in existence for a long long time. The game is very interesting, as its more of city building and trading than wars. I personally was not very impressed with Travian ( www.travian.com ), as it was more war based, and when you start, the player who has been there next to you, would just loot you with his large army and you will be left to start from first. Immortal Cities: Nile Online is a free to play persistent browser-based empire and city building game set in ancient Egypt. Play with thousands of other players as you construct cities and monuments worthy of your legacy as Pharaoh! Nile Online is casually paced; it's something you can play throughout the day, minutes at a time. The game is free to play and there is nothing to download or install -...

Shoot that sheep (Flash Game)

This game focuses on simple reaction time in which you need to press a button once you see a sheep running. A 3 second penalty if you press the button without a sheep running. Quite simple, but tells you when to actually go and de-stress. Reaction time (RT) is the elapsed time between the presentation of a sensory stimulus and the subsequent behavioural response. RT is often used in experimental psychology to measure the duration of mental operations, known as mental chronometry. The behavioural response is often a button press but can also be an eye movement, a vocal response, or some other observable behaviour.     * Simple reaction time is usually defined as the time required for an observer to detect the presence of a stimulus. For example, an observer might be asked to press a button as soon as a light or sound appears. Mean RT is approximately 180 to 200 milliseconds to detect visual stimuli, whereas for sound it is around 140-160 milliseconds ...

Prince of Persia (Original Flash Game)

The game is set in Ancient Persia. As a child, Jordan Mechner had enjoyed the tales from the The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, and the settings for this game are changed to Persia. The Prince is an orphan, living off the streets of Persia. One day, he scales the palace walls to catch a glimpse of the Princess, whose beauty is like "moonrise in the heavens". His feelings are reciprocated by the Princess as well, commoner though he is.   The game starts with the Sultan of Persia being called away for a war in a foreign land. Sensing opportunity, the evil Vizier Jaffar seizes the throne for himself. The Prince is imprisoned, since Jaffar has designs on the Princess. The Princess is also imprisoned and is given an hour to decide: she would have to either marry Jaffar or else, die. The Prince therefore has 60 minutes to complete the game by saving the Princess and killing Jaffar.   The twist is that the game is played in real time, so the Prince must qui...
