Nano deports Singur

Tata Motors finally announced on Friday October third that the Nano will deport Singur. As you all know Tata has come up with a 1 Lac car which is considered to be one of the best innovation from India. Tata earlier designed this car and proved that small car can be done with a price range of INR 1 Lac.
To implement this Tata has setup a factory in a place called Singur in West Bengal. The government has acquired lands from the Farmers and handed it over to Tata for having their plant setup for the Nano Project.Mamta Banerjee head of the party Trinamool congress started protest against Tata on this Nano project and has been pestering Tata to return the lands back to the Farmer. The party people did all the destructions possible to the Tata like threatening the employees manhandling them so that they dont continue with the project.

Tata motors has been patient enough to let this agitation get over but as days pass by it became even more aggressive and finally they had to make a decision to move out the Nano project from Singur.Tata is not bothered on the initial investment made on the plant in Singur but rather they need a peaceful place to work on this project.

This Nano project has opened job opening for lot of People in West Bengal who would again be unemployed because of this Nano car running out of the state. There are three to four states like Karnataka, Gujarat who are ready to do anything for the Nano to drive in their place.

Farmers were assured that they would be given compensations and lands in a different place. But politicians are trying to make business out of this deal and not letting this project to happen.Eventhough the Government of West Bengal backs this project , it still cannot happen because of the Opposition party.

With the brand of Farmers, the opposition party has arrogated the jobs of many young people. Not very sure with these type of events any Company will even think of setting up some business in West Bengal.

Do you think what the Opposition has done to Tata is fare? Should not they allowed this Tata project which would have empowered the state with more income?

Helping an Employee Who’s Struggling with Postpartum Depression

Going back to work is tough for any new parent, but the transition is especially difficult for those suffering from postpartum depression. (Remember, postpartum depression affects both women and men.) If you manage someone who has recently had a baby, pay close attention to how they’re doing — a parent’s struggle doesn’t always show on the outside. Some people may overcompensate by working too hard, while others may show a loss of enthusiasm. Familiarize yourself with the services your firm offers — which may include groups for working parents, health care coverage for counseling, or post-natal yoga or meditation classes — so that you can help your employee access support. Offer options such as flex time, telecommuting, gradual return, or peer mentoring. In fact, it’s a good idea to offer these things to all team members so that the new parent doesn’t feel singled out. Encourage Employees to Learn by Sharing Your Own Growth

As a manager, it’s your job to make sure everyone on your team keeps learning. But beyond encouraging people to take classes and go to conferences, how do you do it? A good starting point is to talk about your own development. When managers open up about their personal areas for improvement, it becomes more acceptable for everyone else to do the same. Ask yourself these questions, and share the answers with your team: “What areas do I need to grow the most in? What insights have I found helpful in accomplishing these goals?” And when you come back from a workshop or training, don’t resort to the typical “It was interesting” summary — be specific. For example, you might say, “I thought I was a good listener, but now I can see that this is a growth area for me. The training showed me new ways to interact with others, and although they aren’t necessarily comfortable for me, I’m going to try them out.” Adapted from " Make Sure Everyone on Your Team Sees Learning as Part of Their Job ,...
