IMImobile has recently announced its tie up with BPL Mobile to help Mumbai Police track drunk drivers. The company has developed a customized solution for the police force with an easily accessible mobile database and interface to track both repeated and new offenders.
“We are pleased to offer the solution to Mumbai Police free of charge," said Vishwanath Alluri, Chairman, Founder and CEO, IMImobile. “Drunk-driving is a dangerous crime and any help we can provide to the Police force can be a good thing. We hope to extend this solution to other parts of the country,” Alluri added.
With BPL Mobile providing the network connectivity, the police will have faster and real-time access to criminal records at the scene of the crime via their mobile phones enabling them to check offenders’ records with greater efficiency.
“It has been a great experience working with IMImobile on this solution and we hope it continues to help Mumbai Police successfully record and track offenders of drunk driving,” said Sunzay Passari, Vice President, Value Added Services, BPL Mobile.
The solution will allow the police to ensure that repeat offenders are caught and new offenders are logged on the system from the outset. Another benefit of the solution is its ability to send out SMS alerts on known offenders to the entire police units, which would be especially useful during the busy festival seasons. The database is confidential with only top ranking officials having complete access.
