The sucessful team who made the superhit "Mozhi" is up with another good product in Abhiyum Naanum. The team has made sure that most of the cast of "Mozhi" is in this venture too. Prithviraj the hero of "Mozhi" has made a very special appearance in this movie. The entire movie is on a flashback mode with Raghuraman (Prakashraj) narrating the story to Sudhakar (Prithviraj). The entire movie has been well thought of in terms of the love and affection a father would shower on his daughter.
The journey of the father-daughter relationship begins from the time Abhi (Trisha) is admitted to school and how she grows into a mature individual. Rahguraman's chemistry with his wife Anu (Aishwarya) is so natural that they hardly seem to put a foot wrong in their acting.
Prakash Raj has performed or rather has lived in his charecter very well. Aishwarya supports him to great effect in terms of performing at the right level. Trisha has given her best performance till date in this film.
Songs by Vidyasagar is of average quality but the background score is fantastic in patches. The scenic beauty of Ooty is captured very beautifully by camerawomen preetha. Director Radha Mohan wanted to come out with a product that was much better than Mozhi but unfortunately fails in the screenplay portion. The unnecessary placement of songs in the second half breaks the flow of the movie.
A must watch movie for the parents who love their daughters but for others its a ordinary fare.
In every stage of Abhi's life, the father does not change the way he thinks about her and that leads to certain comic situations in the movie. When Abhi chooses a man as her to-be life partner and when that is being conveyed to Raghuraman the expression on his face indicates how much he has sinked into the role.
