Villu Movie Review

There is nothing new in Ayangaran International's villu. The same old story of a son taking revenge on the bad guys who were responsible for killing his father. The treatment given by the director prabhu deva is also nothing new when compared to his previous hit "Pokkiri". Infact Villu is like re-visiting Pokkiri in a new version with slight modifications to the story line. Pugazh (Vijay) comes into the scheme of things with a fight which raises the pulse of his die hard fans. Later similar to Pokkiri a song in which Prabhu Deva shakes a leg with vijay and the new addition to this one being Kushboo in a special apperance. Jhanvi (Nayanthara) a foreign return girl to the village probably for her friend's marriage is all glamour in her introduction scene. As in all movies Pugazh and Jhanvi by design have come to the same marriage function and the usual boy meets girl episodes happen. Vadivelu who has been roped in to do a seperate comedy track has overdone his role in t...

Slumdog Millionaire Movie Review

Slumdog Millionaire is a tale from india which is being portrayed on screen by a foreigner. And to be very honest the director "Danny Boyle" has done a fabulous job. He has made sure the movie does not become a very stylish representation of an indian slum and its occupants. Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) is in a very critical moment of his life where he is just one question short of winning twenty million rupees and at the same time he is being questioned by the police in a local police station in Mumbai doubting his integrity. The main storyline of the movie is based on the popular game show in india "Kaun Banega Crorepati" and "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". The hero Jamal an ordinary tea serving office assistant in Mumbai has come to participate in this contest not for money but for something else more important than that. The story goes to a flashback mode where Jamal and his younger brother Salim (Madhur Mittal) just keep rocking in whatever they do. Their...
